Indian Swinging Clubs
Indian Swinging Clubs
These turned clubs are exercise equipment you'll want to leave out in the open. Good news is, you'll be more likely to use them.
WHAT ARE THEY?
Indian club swinging started with ancient Persian Pehllwani wrestlers using them as fitness tools. It spread through Iran, India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Indian club training was brought to America in the middle of the 19th century.
WHY USE THEM?
Shoulder Strength & Flexibility Training with these clubs gives great benefit. They both strengthen and increase flexibility in your shoulders, arms and torso. Most strength training exercises that target your shoulders work with a very limited range. The club swinging works your full range of motion.
Core Strength The swinging movement requires you to engage your core muscles to say upright.
Mind-Body Coordination. When you first start some of the swing patterns, you'll feel like you're being asked to pat your head and rub your stomach while standing on one leg. The coordination is the primary reason the U.S. Army trained soldiers with clubs. So they're not only good for your body, but your brain-zone too.
Rehab & Prevent Injuries Performing slow and controlled Indian club exercises is a great way to rehab. They're also excellent at strengthening your small shoulder muscles which prevents injury as well.
It's Fun! You can really get into a rhythm and feel like a martial arts dancer with these. It's meditative and good for you!
